DALLAS, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- UT Southwestern Medical Center today announced the appointment of Nimisha Savani as Vice President of Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs. In her role, Ms. Savani will report to Dr. Daniel K. Podolsky, President of UT Southwestern, and will be responsible for leading all of the Medical Center's communications and marketing programs.
"Nimisha's broad communications and marketing experience and solid understanding of the health care industry, along with her leadership qualities, will be an asset to UT Southwestern," Dr. Podolsky said. Prior to joining UT Southwestern in January, Ms. Savani spent 11 years at ConvaTec Inc., a New Jersey-based manufacturer of medical devices. During the last four years at ConvaTec, she served as Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Communications, and Executive Operations and was part of the team that lead the company's divestiture from Bristol-Myers Squibb."I am honored to be joining UT Southwestern at such an exciting time for the Medical Center," said Ms. Savani. She began her career in marketing and management for Royal Bank of Canada. Ms. Savani has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Villanova University. She currently participates as a Fellow at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
