The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, attractive valuation levels and good cash flow from operations. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including feeble growth in the company's earnings per share, deteriorating net income and poor profit margins.

- GENERAL MOTORS CO's earnings per share declined by 13.6% in the most recent quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago. Earnings per share have declined over the last two years. We anticipate that this should continue in the coming year. During the past fiscal year, GENERAL MOTORS CO reported lower earnings of $4.62 versus $8.13 in the prior year. For the next year, the market is expecting a contraction of 29.9% in earnings ($3.24 versus $4.62).
