Data erasure leader is recognized along with two other leading Finnish companies for success in the international market
Blancco, the global leader in data erasure and computer reuse solutions, has been selected to receive a 2012 Internationalization Award of the President of the Republic of
Finland. Each year, Finpro, a global organization that promotes the growth and success of Finnish companies on the international market, performs a search and preliminary assessment for award nominees, then prepares a proposal to the President of the Republic in cooperation with the Association for Finnish Work. This year, President
Sauli Niinistö of the Finnish Republic has selected three companies for the prestigious award.
Now in their 45th year of recognizing outstanding international growth for Finnish companies, the awards were presented in
Helsinki today. Blancco CEO and Co-Founder
Kim Väisänen and Chairman of the Board Dr.
Michael Röchner represented Blancco at the event. Other 2012 winners are Rovio Entertainment, the gaming and entertainment company that created the mobile game sensation Angry Birds, and garment manufacturer L-Fashion Group.

In nominating Blancco, Finpro noted that the company's business idea was born when its founders read about the Finnish hospital that sold a used computer containing data about more than 3,000 patients. This gave rise to the idea of professional data destruction products for hard drives. Today, with millions of licenses sold around the world, Blancco's customer base includes the European Commission, NATO, SAP, broadcaster Al-Jazeera, and many of the world's largest financial institutions.
