KB Home Says Hello To Hutto With New Community Opening Planned For Spring 2013

KB Home (NYSE: KBH), one of the nation’s largest and most recognized homebuilders, today announced plans for its first new home community in Hutto. The builder has begun construction of model homes for the new Hutto Park community located just north of downtown Hutto. KB Home has enjoyed success in neighboring Round Rock for many years and is now bringing its Built to Order™ homes to Hutto with the acquisition of the 105 finished homesites that will become Hutto Park.

“This is our first project in Hutto and we’re very excited to join this flourishing area. We think the time is right to expand our presence in the Austin market and help create a new place for families to call home,” said Ken Langston, president of KB Home’s Austin division.

Residents of KB Home’s Hutto Park will enjoy access to a private recreation center with pool and picnic pavilion. The community is also just minutes from SH 79 and SH 130, making for an easy commute to the area’s many major employers.

The builder’s offerings will include 12 one- and two-story home designs with up to four bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths in up to 3,125 square feet of living space. And with KB Home’s Built to Order approach, homebuyers will get to select their homesite and floor plan, as well as aesthetic choices like faucets and fixtures. Select floor plans can also be customized to suit homebuyers’ differing needs. For instance, in some plans, a loft space can be utilized as a home office or entertainment nook, or can be converted into an additional bedroom and bath.

All new homes at Hutto Park will also be ENERGY STAR ^® certified so that they are easier on homeowners’ pocketbooks. How much easier? Home shoppers can look to KB Home’s Energy Performance Guide, or EPG, in all of its new homes in Hutto Park. Similar to the miles per gallon rating or MPG sticker on cars, the EPG provides buyers with an estimate of monthly energy costs for the home as designed, as well as an estimate of monthly energy cost savings when compared to a typical resale home.
