ScentWorld To Celebrate Two Fragrances Inspired By New York City & The Tri-State Area

NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ScentWorld, LLC announced today that it would celebrate two fragrances inspired by New York City and the tri-state area, called, "Resilience" and "The Scent of Departure NYC," during the opening night Welcome Reception and at the SMItty Gala Award ceremonies at the ScentWorld 2013 annual conference held on February 6-8, at the Marriott Downtown in New York City.

Among the public figures attending ScentWorld 2013 are Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, President and CEO of SWW Creative, Susan Henshaw Jones, Director of The Museum of the City of New York and South Street Seaport Museum and New York State Senator Liz Krueger.

"We are delighted to welcome such esteemed and accomplished professionals, who have done so much for New York, to support us in recognizing the undeniable spirit of New York and the scents that capture its unique essence," said Caroline Pieper-Vogt, President of ScentWorld, LLC.

Ms. Henshaw Jones, who is renowned for her efforts in preserving and re-building the South Street Seaport Museum, and Ms. Winston Wolkoff, widely recognized for her contributions to the American fashion industry, will take part in presenting "the Scent of Resilience and The Scent of Departure of New York City" during ScentWorld's opening night Welcome Reception on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m.

"ScentWorld 'Scent of Resilience' symbolizes the strength, optimism and sense of community of New York and surrounding areas, in the face and aftermath of Hurricane Sandy," said Caroline Pieper-Vogt, President of ScentWorld, LLC.

Steven Claisse, the corporate Senior Vice President of Creative Development and Senior Perfumer at Belmay, created the "Resilience" scent. Claisse is a native New Yorker and he has captured the dynamic and vigorous nature of New York in the creation of the "Resilience" fragrance. " New York's character and allure is endless," said Mr. Claisse.

"The 'Resilience' fragrance depicts the various elements that make New York and the New York area unique - bold flavors, vibrant lights, dynamic skyscrapers and lots of attitude!"

The Scent of Departure NYC, created by the world-renowned Histoires de Parfums' Gerald Ghislain, is a modern, crisp and invigorating fragrance with sparkling notes of apple. "The Scent of Departure NYC takes you on a trip into Gotham's greenest parks and brightest streets," said Mr. Ghislain. "It is the essence of New York City in a bottle."

New York State Senator Liz Krueger will be attending the SMItty Gala Awards reception on February 7 at 7:00 p.m. Senator Krueger will be accepting the fragrances on behalf of the State of New York and in celebration of the spirit that these fragrances represent.

ScentWorld 2013 prominent guests and dignitaries, along with conference attendees will participate in special activities to also include a keynote presentation from Chandler Burr, author, Director and Curator of the Center of Olfactory Art at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. Mr. Burr will deliver the Gala address on February 7, followed by an awards ceremony to recognize the top industry talent for their innovation in scent and sensory marketing.

The three-day ScentWorld event focuses on leveraging relevance and resonance to maximize revenue in today's marketplace. The program brings together well-known scent technology and fragrance manufacturers; scent marketing distributors and consultants; marketing, advertising and branding agency professionals, sensory marketing pioneers and established brands from across the globe. Participating in the three-day international event will place attendees on the fast track to utilize the power of scent and sensory marketing to increase sales and create lasting emotional bonds with today's sophisticated consumers.
