The stock ranged in price between $42.23-$42.98 after having opened the day at $42.98 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $42.91. Other companies within the Financial sector that declined today were: Broadway Financial (BYFC), down 13%, Porter Bancorp (PBIB), down 12.2%, Patriot National Bancorp (PNBK), down 11.9%, and Jacksonville Bancorp Inc (FL (JAXB), down 8.9%.

Citigroup, Inc., a diversified financial services holding company, provides a range of financial products and services to consumers, corporations, governments, and institutions worldwide. The company operates through two segments, Citicorp and Citi Holdings. Citigroup has a market cap of $125.51 billion and is part of the banking industry. The company has a P/E ratio of 11.1, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 6.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Friday. Currently there are 19 analysts that rate Citigroup a buy, two analysts rate it a sell, and four rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Citigroup as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its increase in net income, attractive valuation levels and growth in earnings per share. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including generally higher debt management risk and disappointing return on equity.
