Huntington Memorial Hospital Elects Paul Johnson, Deborah Williams To Its Board Of Directors

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Local residents Paul Johnson and Deborah Williams have been elected to the board of directors of Huntington Memorial Hospital, effective immediately.

"We are thrilled to add to our board two individuals who value the strength of our community and who are deeply committed to the work and nonprofit mission of Huntington Hospital," said Hospital Chairman of the Board James Rothenberg. "The challenges facing healthcare and nonprofit hospitals have never been greater, and we know that Paul and Debbie will play a vital role in making sure that we continue to provide access to the kind of quality care and mission-driven focus our community has enjoyed for more than 120 years."

Johnson is the president and director of the Gesner-Johnson Family Foundation, founded by his parents to provide support to underprivileged and underserved communities. Through the Foundation, Johnson and his family have contributed significantly to healthcare initiatives at Huntington Hospital. Johnson and his wife Katherine are also founding members of SCRUBS, created in 2005 to engage and encourage young philanthropists to safeguard the future of healthcare in the region through their active support of Huntington Hospital.

Johnson is the former president and chief executive officer of Kelley Blue Book, where from 1999-2012 he grew the company from $20 million in annual revenue to more than $140 million. Prior to Kelley Blue Book he held management positions in marketing and strategic planning at leading consumer packaged-goods companies including Nestlé, ConAgra and Chiquita. Johnson currently serves on the boards of two technology startup companies and a private equity-backed software services company.

Williams retired in 2011 from a successful three-decade career in the healthcare industry, during which she held leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente hospitals and its health plan. There she was instrumental in developing and implementing Kaiser's first patient admissions, discharge and transfer system throughout its hospital network. She also served as practice leader for governance support of information technologies for Kaiser Permanente's health plan, managing a team who supported governance of the plan's information technology systems.
