Intoxalock® Celebrates 20 Years In The Fight Against Intoxicated Driving

DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Intoxalock, a company that provides innovative technology with its alcohol monitoring devices, celebrates two decades of helping fight drunk driving. Twenty years ago, in January 1993, Intoxalock installed its first car breathalyzer, now known as an ignition interlock device (IID).

The Intoxalock is a discreet, hand-held alcohol sensor that tests a driver's breath to determine his or her blood alcohol content (BAC) and prohibits a vehicle from starting if the driver fails the test. However, more and more individuals and businesses are voluntarily installing the devices as a way of preventing a potential drunk driving arrest or tragedy.
