/PRNewswire/ -- Werner Co. announced today the availability of the Energy Seal Attic Ladder, an aluminum attic ladder that is five times more energy efficient by reducing drafts, air leakage and wasted energy from consumers' homes. Werner's Energy Seal Attic Ladder is an exclusive product available online and at select Home Depot stores across the country.
Working with Owens Corning, Werner incorporated insulation that is built into the structure of a standard Werner aluminum attic ladder. The new product features the Owens Corning R-5 PINK
insulation, within a 1" thick door structure. The aluminum attic ladder also features weather stripping around the frame that eliminates 60% of air leakage by creating a tight seal when the door is closed. Werner's Energy Seal Attic Ladder is five times more energy efficient than standard wood attic ladder door systems.
"In our research, homeowners have communicated the importance of energy efficiency and their desire to find easy ways to minimize wasted energy and identify cost savings," said
, VP of Marketing at Werner Co. "Air leakage through attic openings is a common issue, this is why we developed the Energy Seal Attic Ladder with integrated insulation and weather stripping, to help seal in warm or cool air and provide short and long term benefits for homeowners."
Werner products have always been recognized for their durability, quality and safety. The new Energy Seal Attic Ladder is built on the successful model AH2210 Aluminum Attic Ladder, an industry-leading product purchased by thousands of consumers each year. Key modifications include a 6" frame, insulated door and air-locking design to create a tight seal that delivers energy saving benefits. In addition, the gas struts make it easy to smoothly open and close the ladder and the non-marring feet and slip-resistant steps ensure additional safety.
