/CNW/ - The Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation, LGen (ret'd)
, is pleased to welcome
Andrea T. Bobkowicz
, to the Board of Trustees. Ms. Bobkowicz is an Investment Advisor with National Bank Financial, Private Wealth Management.
The order-in-council appointment was announced by the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, the Honourable James Moore. The Corporation's 11-member Board oversees the operation of the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum,
national museums of human and military history.
"Ms. Bobkowicz is joining the Board at a key moment in the Corporation's history as it prepares for the creation of the new Canadian Museum of History," said LGen (ret'd) Leach. "Her business experience, financial acumen and record of community engagement will make her a valuable addition to the team."
Ms. Bobkowicz previously worked in Global Institutional Equity Sales at RBC Dominion Securities in
, and has business experience with
. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
Her volunteer work includes leadership positions with the Foundation for Catholic Community Services and the St. Patrick's Society of Montréal. She has been a member of several organizations of note, including the Canadian Council for the Americas, the Canadian Society of

The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation operates the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Canadian War Museum and the Virtual Museum of New France. As part of their mandate, the Museums function as centres for research and public information on the social, military and human history of the country. Their principal role is to preserve and promote the heritage of Canada for present and future generations, thereby contributing to the enhancement of Canadian identity.
