Facebook (FB - Get Report) hosted its big press event on Tuesday and unveiled what it calls Graph Search. General Motors (GM - Get Report) said Tuesday it expects only a modest increase in pretax profit this year as it rolls out multiple new cars and trucks worldwide. The automaker also said it thinks global auto sales will grow modestly this year, driven by the U.S. and China, while European car sales will decline.. GM told analysts that its pretax profit margin in North America should rise from 8% to 10% in the next three or four years.
EBay (EBAY), the global commerce platform and payments company, is expected by analysts to report fourth-quarter earnings of 69 cents a share. EBay reports after Wednesday's closing bell.
Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) said Tuesday it expects fourth-quarter net income of $1.92 to $1.97 a share. The restaurant company forecast revenue would rise to almost $700 million, up 17% from a year earlier. Analysts are expecting quarterly profit of $2.09 a share on revenue of $690.7 million.
