NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Allstate (NYSE:ALL) hit a new 52-week high Friday as it is currently trading at $42.90, above its previous 52-week high of $42.81 with 604,027 shares traded as of 10:56 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 3.8 million shares over the past 30 days.

Allstate has a market cap of $20.35 billion and is part of the financial sector and insurance industry. Shares are up 6% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday.

The Allstate Corporation, through its subsidiaries, engages in the personal property and casualty insurance, life insurance, and retirement and investment products business primarily in the United States. The company has a P/E ratio of 8.1, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7.
