CES: Day Two Recap

4. HP

Even though I struck a negative tone on HP (HPQ - Get Report) yesterday, there was something that caught my eye. At ShowStoppers, the no.1 PC maker had a laptop so big, it was reminiscent of the piano scene in the movie Big. Users were using their feet to answer search queries. While this isn't a hit product, it was something quirky and fun, and HP deserves credit for trying.

5. Apple's Ecosystem

Of course no day at CES would be complete without a mention of Apple (AAPL - Get Report), or more specifically, its ecosystem. PhotoFast showed off its i-FlashDrive, the only Flash drive available for new Apple products, and the only one approved by the iPhone maker. One of the major gripes about Apple products is the ability to add content in a quick and easy manner, and this drive lets you do that. At $155 for a 16-GB model, it's pretty pricey, but I'm fairly certain this is going to be a hit, especially as more people switch to iPhone 5s and the new iPad, given that the i-FlashDrive has Lightning connectivity.

CES has everything you could want, and a lot you don't want, but one thing is for certain: there's no being bored.
