The stock ranged in a price between $22.94-$23.58 after having opened the day at $23 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $23.05. Other companies within the Automotive industry that increased today were: China Zenix Auto International Ltd ADR (ZX), up 6.8%, Orbital Corporation (OBT), up 3.4%, China Automotive Systems (CAAS), up 2.9%, and Standard Motor Products (SMP), up 2%.

Navistar International Corporation, through its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells commercial and military trucks, buses, diesel engines, recreational vehicles (RVs), and chassis, as well as provides service parts for trucks and trailers. Navistar International has a market cap of $1.77 billion and is part of the consumer goods sector. Shares are up 1.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Friday. Currently there are five analysts that rate Navistar International a buy, two analysts rate it a sell, and seven rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Navistar International as a hold. The company's strongest point has been its strong cash flow from operations. At the same time, however, we also find weaknesses including a generally disappointing performance in the stock itself, deteriorating net income and poor profit margins.

On the negative front, Hyster-Yale Materials Handling (HY), down 3.3%, Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide (QTWW), down 2.7%, Accuride (ACW), down 2.6%, and Dorman Products (DORM), down 2.4%, were all laggards within the automotive industry with Ford Motor (F) being today's automotive industry laggard.
