NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- With the Consumer Electronics Show about to get underway in Las Vegas, Nvidia (NVDA - Get Report) was a gainer in premarket trading after unveiling its latest chip and a new offering for gamers.
Early on Monday, Nvidia announced its Tegra 4 offering, which it is touting as the world's fastest mobile processor. Nvidia also announced "Project Shield," which it describes as "a gaming portable for open platforms." The device can play both Google (GOOG) Android and PC games, although Nvidia has not yet revealed pricing and availability details.
Nvidia shares, which closed up 3.3% on Friday, gained 2.28% to reach $13.45 in premarket trading.
