Nucor Cold Finish -- Nebraska Earns Recognition As A John Deere "Partner-level Supplier" And Supplier Of The Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nucor Cold Finish – Nebraska, a division of Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE), has earned recognition as a partner-level supplier for 2012 and was also named Enterprise Supply Management Supplier of the Year in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The partner-level status is Deere & Company's highest supplier rating. Nucor Cold Finish – Nebraska was selected for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement.  Nucor teammates will accept the awards on March 5, 2013 at the annual Deere & Co. Achieving Excellence Awards Banquet.

Nucor Cold Finish is a supplier of cold finish bars to John Deere's operation in Moline, Illinois.  This is their second Supplier of the Year award in three years along with their sixth straight year at partner level.

Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
