HERNDON, Va., Dec. 17, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Jack Dorsett as vice president of the Integrated Mission Systems business for Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector.

Dorsett is now responsible for the business unit's programs, which include combat systems integration, weapon systems modernization, operational intelligence, fleet support, maritime anti-ballistic missile defense and strategic nuclear command and control. He reports to Mike Twyman, sector vice president and general manager of the Defense Systems division for Northrop Grumman Information Systems.

Dorsett previously was vice president, cybersecurity and command, control, communications and computers (C4) on the government relations staff for Northrop Grumman, directing development and execution of cybersecurity and C4 elements of the company's strategic business plan and managing corporatewide interfaces with key government and elected officials.

Dorsett joined Northrop Grumman in 2011 after a distinguished 33-year career with the U.S. Navy. He was the U.S. Navy's first deputy chief of Naval Operations for information dominance, Navy chief information officer and director of intelligence. Previously, he was director of intelligence for the Joint Staff; director of intelligence, U.S. Pacific Command; director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance programs and resources, Navy Staff; commander, Joint Intelligence Center, U.S. Central Command; and director of intelligence, Office of Naval Intelligence.
