At a special ceremony on
Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10 am, NHSSF
District 2 County Commissioner Jean Monestime
unveiled the first five
homes completed. The event took place at
3103 NW 64 th Street.
Present at the event included the contracted buyers, officials from HUD and NeighborWorks® America, as well as local funders, residents and community partners.

The houses are built using building materials that provide a high insulation value and a tight building envelope, which saves energy and reduces the homeowner's utility costs. In addition, all the homes are built using the latest techniques in hurricane preparation and have received an Energy Star 3 rating.
