The 4 th Year For The Popular Program
Dec. 12, 2012
/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Priority Automotive wants to help hundreds of dogs and cats find a home for the holidays again this year. So, the auto retailer has arranged with the
and Norfolk SPCA's and Chesapeake Animal Services to pay half of all adoption fees between
and December 31. Priority's contribution will pay for spaying and neutering and all required shots. Adoption fees average about
for dogs and
for cats. Priority has committed
to the cause.
Animal shelters are especially busy during the holidays. Children are out of school, giving them extra time to visit shelters with their parents and select a pet. Plus, the economy has placed increased pressure on SPCA's and animal shelters as many pet owners are giving up their animals for adoption due to costs of feeding, vets and other expenses. This is the fourth year Priority has participated in the program with local SPCA's during the holidays. According to Priority President and CEO,
it has been an overwhelming success.
"There are so many dogs and cats in our local shelters that will make wonderful pets and need a nice warm home for Christmas," Ellmer said. "For some families, the cost of adoption is prohibitive and could keep some from taking one of these great pets home and making it a part of their family. At our home, pets have been a part of our family for years. We just want to share that wonderful experience with as many as possible," he added.
The Priority adoption program is available at the Virginia Beach SPCA, Norfolk SPCA and Chesapeake Animal Services. The program ends
or until the money runs out.
