Veritas Software Names Oracle's Bloom As President, CEO
Storage management software maker Veritas Software(VRTS) named former Oracle(ORCL) executive Gary Bloom as president and chief executive of the company.
Bloom worked for software maker Oracle for 14 years, where he served as executive vice president. He was also in charge of Oracle's core database business and led the company's Internet and e-business units. Oracle's chief financial officer, Jeff Henley, has recently denied rumors that he was on the verge of leaving the company. Ray Lane, Oracle's chief operating officer, left the company in July. Veritas also said Mark Leslie, who has been chairman and CEO of the company since 1990, will continue as chairman and will maintain a full-time active role in the business.TheStreet Premium Services
