On the negative front, top decliners within the sector include AvalonBay Communities (AVB), down 1.9%, Royal Bank of Scotland Group (The (RBS), down 0.4%, ING Groep N.V (ING), down 0.7% and Credit Suisse Group (CS), down 0.6%. Top gainers within the sector include American International Group (AIG), up 2.4%, JPMorgan Chase (JPM), up 2.1%, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MTU), up 1.3%, Morgan Stanley (MS), up 1.3% and Bank of America Corporation (BAC), up 1.1%.
