It is primarily engaged in acquisitions, development, and management of neighborhood and community shopping centers. Kimco Realty has a market cap of $7.85 billion and is part of the financial sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 56.6, above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 18.7% year to date as of the close of trading on Monday. Currently there are nine analysts that rate Kimco Realty a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and eight rate it a hold.

On the negative front, China Housing & Land Development (CHLN), down 10.9%, HMG/Courtland Properties (HMG), down 10.1%, Amrep Corporation (AXR), down 9.4%, and Income Opportunity Realty Investors (IOT), down 4.2%, were all laggards within the real estate industry with Annaly Capital Management (NLY) being today's real estate industry laggard.
