Counterfeit Parts, Cyber-security And Unmanned Systems Just A Few Of The Topics Discussed At SAE International Aerospace Events

WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Featuring a panel discussion by the Chief Technology Officers of all three major air-framers, SAE International recently held two aerospace events in Phoenix, Ariz .

The SAE 2012 Power Systems Conference (PSC) and the SAE 2012 Aerospace Electronics and Avionics Systems Conference (AEAS) (co-located together) focused on the challenges facing the aerospace industry – and the solutions to best meet them. The events featured speakers from several major Department of Defense suppliers (Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, Raytheon, GE and Rolls Royce, to name a few).

32 exhibiting companies showed their innovative technology and the technical program featured a full suite of topics, including wiring, lighting, batteries, electronic displays, power distribution and management, fiber optics, fuel cells, propulsion, flight controls, thermal management, integrated modular architectures, actuation, design and verification, modeling and simulation, integrated vehicle health management, software development to certification, cyber-security, systems integration, unmanned systems, and energy management. 

An additional program, the inaugural "Counterfeit Parts Avoidance Symposium," focused on eliminating counterfeit parts from the supply chain.

Combined, more than 600 people attended the events, representing all areas of aerospace management and engineering.
