Kapow Events Raises $1.6 Million In Series A Funding

CHICAGO, Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kapow Events ( http://www.kapowevents.com), the Chicago based online marketplace for company events, announced today that it has closed an additional $900,000 in Series A funding led by I2A Fund and INCISENT Labs. FireStarter Fund and Brian Hand also participated. This additional funding builds on $700,000 committed in June 2012 to bring the total Series A investment to $1.6 million. The Series A funding round comes on the heels of some key milestones that Kapow Events achieved in under a year since the company's launch in May of 2011:

• In six months, Kapow Events has grown to service over 1,200 client members
• Kapow Events has worked with more than 50 of Chicago's largest companies

Kapow disrupts the traditional event planning process by supplying high quality prepackaged options for companies.
