Umpqua Bank Launches Homebuilder Finance Group

Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: UMPQ), continues the expansion of its commercial real estate presence in the Pacific Northwest with the addition of a new homebuilder finance group. The new group will provide Oregon- and Washington-based residential regional homebuilders and developers with access to construction and development loans.

To lead the venture, Umpqua has hired Kelly Warter as senior vice president and homebuilder finance manager. Based in Seattle, Warter will oversee the bank’s homebuilder finance operations, including the expansion of products and portfolios. Warter brings more than 30 years of homebuilder finance and commercial real estate lending experience and will report to John Swanson, senior vice president and head of Umpqua Bank’s commercial real estate division.

Also joining Umpqua’s homebuilder finance division are Lisa Woodruff, senior assistant relationship manager, and Sheneil Kliewer, senior loan administrator. Collectively, the team has more than 50 years of experience in homebuilder and developer financing.
