VimpelCom Welcomes Russian FAS Announcement
AMSTERDAM, Nov. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- "VimpelCom Ltd." ("VimpelCom", "Company" or "Group") (NYSE: VIP), a leading global provider of telecommunications services, announced today that it is pleased with the announcement from the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service ("FAS") that FAS is withdrawing its claims against Telenor East Invest II AS and Weather Investments II. VimpelCom awaits a formal decision from the Moscow Arbitration Court on the withdrawal request and an official removal of the injunctions previously placed upon the Company as a result of the FAS claim.
