Other companies within the Financial sector that increased today were: NTS Realty Holdings (NLP), up 38.4%, MBIA (MBI), up 12.1%, Central Federal (CFBK), up 12.1%, and Harleysville Savings Financial Corporation (HARL), up 9.4%.

Genworth Financial, Inc., a financial security company, provides insurance, wealth management, investment, and financial solutions in the United States and internationally. Genworth Financial has a market cap of $2.74 billion and is part of the insurance industry. The company has a P/E ratio of 5.4, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are down 14.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Tuesday. Currently there are three analysts that rate Genworth Financial a buy, one analyst rates it a sell, and seven rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Genworth Financial as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its compelling growth in net income, revenue growth and attractive valuation levels. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including weak operating cash flow, a generally disappointing performance in the stock itself and poor profit margins.

On the negative front, Credit Suisse (LCPR), down 11.6%, Southern Connecticut Bancorp (SSE), down 11.1%, Bank VA Chesterfield (BOVA), down 9.3%, and SGOCO Group (SGOC), down 8.6%, were all laggards within the financial sector with Apartment Investment & Management (AIV) being today's financial sector laggard.
