WDIV-TV Local 4 Sweeps To Victory In November 2012

DETROIT, Nov. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WDIV-TV Local 4 News is the top-rated newscast at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. with one day left to go in the November 2012 Nielsen ratings period in the Detroit television market.  In addition, WDIV-TV is #1 from Sign On to Sign Off in M-F ratings with a 5.1 household rating and a 12 share with a growth of 31% in ratings and 33% in share over November 2011, beating WXYZ (4.8 HH RTG/11 SHR), WJBK (4.6 HH RTG/11 SHR) and WWJ (2.3 HH RTG/5 SHR). 

Local 4 News: First at 4 p.m. is #1 in the time period with a 6.1 household rating and a 15 household share, a growth of 42% in the ratings and 36% in share over November 2011, beating both Dr. Oz (WXYZ 4 p.m.) (3.3 HH RTG/8 SHR) and Judge Judy ( 4 p.m. WJBK) (5.7 HH RTG/14 SHR).  Local 4 News at 5 p.m. is #1 in the time period with a 8.2 household rating and a 17 share, a growth of 44% in the ratings and 42% in share over November 2011, beating both WXYZ (5.6 HH RTG/11 SHR) and WJBK (6.2 HH RTG/13 SHR).   Local 4 News at 6 p.m . is #1 in household ratings in the 6-6:30 p.m. time period garnering a 9.6 household rating and a 18 share, a growth of 25% in the ratings and 20% in share (compared to WXYZ 6.5 RTG, 12 SHR and WJBK 5.7 RTG, 11 SHR). Local 4 News at 11 p.m ., anchored by Carmen Harlan, Devin Scillian, Chuck Gaidica and Bernie Smilovitz, is #1 M-Sun with a 9.3 household rating and a 17 share (compared to WXYZ 7.4 RTG, 14 SHR, WJBK 10pm (M-F) 7.8 RTG, 12 SHR, and WJBK 11pm 5.5 RTG, 10 SHR).   

In other dayparts of the WDIV programming lineup, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is #1 in the 10-11 a.m. time period (5.2 HH RTG, 16 SHR), experiencing significant growth over November 2011 with a jump of 41% in the ratings and a 33% in share. Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy are #1 in the all important access time period of 7-8 p.m. averaging a 10.3 rating with a 18 share in household ratings, a growth of 6% in both the ratings and share over November 2011 (compared to WXYZ 5.9 RTG, 10 SHR and WJBK 4.5 RTG, 8 SHR), and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is #1 in the 11:35 p.m. time period with a 4.7 household rating and a 12 share.

NBC's primetime lineup anchored by The Voice , Revolution , Parenthood , Sunday Night Football and comedies ( Go On/New Normal/The Office) experienced huge ratings increases and will finish November as the #1 Prime station in Detroit in the coveted Adults 25-54 demographic.  NBC/WDIV's M-Sun Prime average delivered a 3.7 household rating and a 9 share, a growth of 37% in household ratings and 50% growth in share over November 2011.  In comparison, excluding the 3 nights of the Detroit Tigers in the World Series on Fox, WJBK/Fox delivered a 3.3 household rating with an 8 share, WXYZ/ABC's posted a 3.5 RTG, 8 SHR and WWJ/CBS's delivered a 2.8 RTG, 6 SHR.
