Among the culinary superstars of MGM Resorts International, Sage at Aria has reinvented the hot fudge sundae for the holiday by replacing the usual vanilla with sweet potato ice cream and topping it with Sage caramel and malted milk foam. At Sensi, a traditional butternut squash soup appetizer will be served with a twist of ingredients such as soy caramelized kabocha, crispy bacon and smoked popcorn. Guests can satisfy their apple craving through a straw with the Enchanted Apple cocktail at Fleur by Hubert Keller: Absente absinthe, apple schnapps, apple puree, white cranberry juice and fresh sweet and sour. For a little boost of energy, guests may try a Cafe Azteque at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon: Absolut vanilla vodka, espresso, Tia Maria, Strega and Aztec chocolate bitters.
If you want traditional, but your companion wants a regular menu, relax. You'll both be happy at The Cosmpolitan of Las Vegas. Holstein's, home of the bamboozled shakes, will be serving its regular menu around Thanksgiving in addition to New England Turkey -- a turkey burger with cranberry relish, bread stuffing and giblet gravy, along with a pumpkin pie bamboozled shake of pumpkin ice cream, brown butter crumble, salted caramel and vanilla vodka. STK is also serving its regular menu in addition to organic traditional turkey -- confit dark meat with foie apple walnut stuffing and brown gravy. Or try Vegas' hippest buffet, Wicked Spoon, where the holiday items include slow-cooked Diestel Farms turkey served with giblet gravy and cranberry orange relish.
In the city of angels, chef and founder David Myers of Comme Ca offers guests pies to go -- three varieties available to order until December -- and culinary director Jose Andres invites guests to enjoy a gastronomic journey at Tres by Jose Andres and The Bazaar by Jose Andres at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. Tres' brunch will include such delectable items as slow-roasted Mary's Farm organic turkey, gravy with giblets and chestnut and sweet potato puree and passion fruit meringue, in addition to caviar and smoked salmon displays. The Bazaar specials will include roasted organic turkey "family style" with gravy and papas canarias -- salty wrinkled potatoes with mojo verde -- as well as the regular menu. Master chef Wolfgang Puck is creating a family-style menu at the Hotel Bel-Air that includes an array of appetizers, salad, trimmings and sides, carved turkey and a decadent dessert buffet. Leftovers will be packaged and wrapped with a bow for guests to take home.
Scarpetta at the Fountainebleau Miami Beach offers an array of Italian-inspired Thanksgiving dishes including turkey porchetta, served with butternut squash and roasted Brussels sprouts, and lovers of Thanksgiving feasts with a twist will be delighted with the brunch at Vida, which includes a saute station with rotisserie favorites such as cider-brined turkey. For diners looking to eat a home-style meal this Thanksgiving without slaving over a hot stove all day, The Dutch at W South Beach Hotel & Residences is putting its own unique spin on Thanksgiving dinner with a special menu that includes crispy turducken, root beer sweet potatoes and confit turkey leg stuffing.
