LinkedIn Corp (LNKD): Today's Featured Internet Winner

Throughout the day, 2.2 million shares of LinkedIn exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 2.3 million shares. The stock ranged in a price between $97.50-$101.10 after having opened the day at $98.02 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $98.77. Other companies within the Internet industry that increased today were: MeetMe (MEET), up 40.6%, ModusLink Global Solutions (MLNK), up 8.6%, Zynga Inc Class A (ZNGA), up 7%, and Groupon (GRPN), up 6.2%.

LinkedIn Corporation operates an online professional network. LinkedIn has a market cap of $8.65 billion and is part of the technology sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 661.7, above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 57.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday. Currently there are 16 analysts that rate LinkedIn a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and nine rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates LinkedIn as a sell. The company's weaknesses can be seen in multiple areas, such as its unimpressive growth in net income and premium valuation.
