Denver Is First To Experience The New Office Depot – A New Store Concept Designed By Customers, For Customers

Office Depot® (NYSE: ODP) has built an entirely new store experience for its customers, and is debuting it in four new stores in Denver. The new concept store was created to encourage customers to interact more with products, with Office Depot associates, and with each other – all in a brand new store designed around the way customers want to shop.

Following the opening of the local Denver stores, Office Depot plans to roll out additional stores with this new concept across the country.

The new Office Depot store goes way beyond mere cosmetic changes. The storefront windows feature graphic overlays which allow people to see inside the store from the sidewalk, and two new in-window 4’ x 8’ digital screens (only at the Wynkoop Street location) showcase hot tech products to passersby.

Once inside, consumers are welcomed to the new bluwire store-within-a-store featuring the coolest tech and mobility products such as cases for iPhone® 5, and accessories for iPad® and MacBook®, Beats© by Dre headphones, and wireless speakers – with the vast majority of these products being new to Office Depot. bluwire is best known for its highly successful tech and mobility products offered in select airports around the country (including Denver).

“We wanted to build an entirely different experience for our customers, not just a smaller box,” said Kevin Peters, President of North America for Office Depot. “Denver is a perfect place to launch our new store concept.” Peters added, “The metropolitan area has a vibrant business community, especially for small businesses that represent our core customers, and it’s also a tech savvy city so we expect our new technology offerings from bluwire will really connect with consumers.”

In fact, the new Office Depot Denver stores feature a PC Bar where people can sit down, plug in their laptop or tablet and get to work. There is also a computer rental station, free Wi-Fi throughout the store, a recharge station and free, self-serve coffee available between the hours of 8 a.m. – 10 a.m., and 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. on weekdays.
