AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Even though there are tons of great holiday coupons popping up every day until Christmas, CouponCodes.com says consumers are wasting an estimated $392 million in savings based on the number of shoppers planning to buy online this holiday season. Consumers can save an average of $20.30 by using online coupons, an increase over the $17.50 in savings from 2011. Despite the growth in savings opportunities, according to a recent telephone survey conducted among 1,001 U.S. adults by Ipsos Public Affairs and commissioned by CouponCodes.com, only 21% of shoppers were, "very likely," to look for online coupons or coupon codes before making a purchase. Even worse, a whopping 42% claim they are, "not at all likely," to look for coupons.
"It's shocking that so many people are throwing away money by not using coupon codes while shopping for holiday gifts," said Erin Geiger, Director of Community at CouponCodes.com. "The unique and streamlined Black Friday and Cyber Monday sections on CouponCodes.com make it extremely easy and fast for consumers to find savings from their favorite stores and save time and money this holiday season."
