Liberty's Liberation Boosts AT&T

 

AT&T (T Quote) was up 1.5% in early trading after it said it would spin off Liberty Media , the television programming company it acquired when it bought Tele-Communications Inc. Liberty's tracking stock was up 4.8%. Ma Bell said the move would ease regulatory concerns about its cable holdings.
