By the end of trading, US Airways Group rose 43 cents (3.4%) to $13.02 on heavy volume. Throughout the day, 10.2 million shares of US Airways Group exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 6.5 million shares. The stock ranged in a price between $12.46-$13.14 after having opened the day at $12.50 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $12.59. Other companies within the Services sector that increased today were: American Learning (ALRN), up 29.1%, World Energy Solutions (XWES), up 14%, Bloomin Brands (BLMN), up 12.6%, and Excel Maritime Carriers (EXM), up 11.9%.

US Airways Group, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides air transportation for passengers and cargo. US Airways Group has a market cap of $2.06 billion and is part of the transportation industry. The company has a P/E ratio of four, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 149.9% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday. Currently there are nine analysts that rate US Airways Group a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and two rate it a hold.

The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, notable return on equity, good cash flow from operations, solid stock price performance and compelling growth in net income. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had generally high debt management risk by most measures that we evaluated.

On the negative front, China Auto Logistics (CALI), down 24.4%, PFSweb (PFSW), down 22.2%, Point.360 (PTSX), down 17.5%, and Universal Power Group (UPG), down 16%, were all laggards within the services sector with Home Depot (HD) being today's services sector laggard.
