Actuate Names FirstBank, And LACSD, As Winners Of 2012 Customer Excellence Awards

Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company™ – delivering more insights to more people than all BI companies combined – today announced that it has recognized FirstBank of Denver, Colorado, and County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County ( LACSD), with 2012 Excellence Awards in the “BIRT Implementation” category.

FirstBank was recognized for its implementation of BIRT and ActuateOne ^® to develop a single-environment, highly efficient and integrated enterprise reporting structure that can be managed by BI developers to ease the burden on the company’s Java and Windows developers. The solution – built for thousands of FirstBank users – reduces integration complexity and development costs by increasing speed and ease of report development. It provides the flexibility to integrate and combine data sources, and supports planned future enhancements including mobile delivery and a self-service platform. The solution includes ActuateOne v11 with Oracle Advanced Security in a VMware virtualized environment.

By deploying this solution among thousands of users and multiple branches, FirstBank has estimated they were able to cut run time by 90% on long-running reports and saved development time by up to 50%. Further, by leveraging Actuate resources like BIRT Exchange, they were able to pull LDAP information, along with related information from a web service and a database. Prior to the adoption of ActuateOne, FirstBank could not combine all of these data sources into one report, nor make all that information seamlessly available to the end user.
