North American Salt Company and Sifto Canada Corp., both subsidiaries of Compass Minerals (NYSE:CMP), have announced price increases on packaged and bulk agricultural, water conditioning, pool, culinary and industrial salt products. The pricing action is driven by higher packaging and logistics costs.
The increases of $8 per short ton on packaged products and $4 per short ton on bulk products will be effective with shipments beginning January 7, 2013, or as contracts allow.
