Globalsurance Offering Updated Aetna Medical Insurance

HONG KONG, Oct. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Globalsurance will be offering the newly updated AETNA Global Benefits international health insurance policies, according to company spokesmen this week.

Globalsurance customers will now be able to obtain AETNA medical insurance plans which include Traditional Chinese Medicine Benefits under both Inpatient and Outpatient coverage, and improved maternity coverage benefits.

Furthermore, Globalsurance customers with an AETNA policy will now be able to include dependents on a parent's plan up until the ages of 18 if the dependent is living with the policyholder or 26, if the dependent is enrolled in full time education.

Globalsurance customers with AETNA coverage are also able to obtain coverage for congenital birth anomalies until their child has reached 12 months of age, giving vastly improved coverage and more peace-of-mind to new families whose infants may have had health problems at birth.

In a move which has been welcomed by Globalsurance, AETNA has also provided more flexibility with regards to the time in which a policyholder has to submit a claim for medical treatment – extending the claims deadline to 180 days after treatment. Additionally, stricter limits have been placed on Accidental Dental Treatments, which are now restricted to one treatment or visit within 30 days of the accident which required the care.

However, Globalsurance would like to note that even though its customers are able to access an improved policy from AETNA that the costs associated with the coverage have increased by an average 10 percent globally since last year. While this increase is lower than AETNA's 11.9 percent per year average since 2008, it is still a significant rise over the previous price points.
