25% Of Over 50s Are Involved In Disputes, Reports Dewar Hogan

LONDON, October 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Boundary disputes, noise and planning issues with neighbours are the biggest causes of arguments according to a new survey

According to a new survey from Saga Legal Services, more than 25% of people aged over 50 have been involved in some form of dispute. The most common causes for argument were over boundary disputes, noise and planning issues with neighbours - these disputes accounted for 38% of the total.

Increasingly people are seeking legal action to get tough on these disputes and resolve conflicts within the law. The Saga Legal Services report reveals 52% of those involved in a dispute have sought legal action to deal with the situation.

However, many people were dissatisfied with the service they received from solicitors. 31% found the process slow and tiresome and 16% said the advice had cost more than expected.

Dewar Hogan is a law firm dealing entirely with property litigation. Through specialising it is able to offer a fast and effective service and it knows property law better than any other law firm in the country - surprisingly there are no other law firms dealing exclusively in property law in the United Kingdom.

Although Dewar Hogan is in this advantageous niche position, it does not attempt to insist on legal action where it's not necessary; 40% of its work is purely advisory. Additionally, it advises its clients of its fees up front and in advance so people can make an informed decision on whether to take legal action over a boundary dispute.

Boundary disputes are commonplace in the UK and as the country becomes more and more urbanised and lacking in space these disputes are likely to increase. As a result, legal advice will become ever more important.
