PCTEL Unveils Next-Generation Interference Management System For Wireless Networks

PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ:  PCTI), a leader in simplifying wireless and site solutions for private and public networks, announced today the next-generation drive test tool for its innovative Clarify Interference Management System, the Clarify NGx. The Clarify Interference Management System, featuring patented PCTEL algorithms, provides superior insight into network interference issues on UMTS and GSM networks. Operators around the world have used the Clarify system to solve their interference problems, lower costs, and deliver improved Quality of Service (QoS) to their users.

The Clarify NGx represents a leap forward in speed, accuracy, price, and portability for the Clarify system, while improving on its industry-leading measurement performance. Users can now conduct enhanced-performance Clarify measurements of UMTS and GSM networks simultaneously with traditional scanning receiver measurements of any technology, including LTE FDD, TD-LTE, CDMA, and EV-DO. Clarify measurements are also available on PCTEL’s SeeGull® MX and EX scanners, allowing existing SeeGull users to add Clarify capabilities to current scanners.

When combined with PCTEL’s patented Clarify Analyzer algorithms, the Clarify NGx provides superior dynamic range for UMTS and GSM, technologies which will remain the backbone of many of the world’s wireless networks for years to come. The spectrum crunch may require operators to install more cell sites, particularly small cells. However, each additional cell site increases the risk of interference, which can result in more dropped calls and reduced data throughput. Clarify NGx helps operators detect and manage sources of interference, even on very weak-powered small cells. By reducing interference, operators create more efficient networks that can handle growing traffic loads.
