WebMD Launches Medscape Germany

NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WebMD Health Corp. (NASDAQ: WBMD), the leading source of health information, announced today the launch of Medscape Germany ( www.medscapedeutschland.de), a service designed to provide physicians credible information and high-quality education tailored to the needs of German physicians and health care professionals.

Medscape Germany will be available to more than 300,000 physicians in the country, offering registered users free, unlimited access to clinical information and resources. The site draws upon the extensive experience of medscape.com in delivering online information to a physician audience. The site covers 15 of the most important specialty and condition areas and will include perspectives from world-renowned German specialists.

Many European physicians are already familiar with and access Medscape, offering a strong base from which to build specialized services into major markets such as Germany. Medscape Germany will have its own dedicated editorial team and national advisors to develop the in-depth content.
