NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Edison International (NYSE:EIX) hit a new 52-week high Wednesday as it is currently trading at $47.60, above its previous 52-week high of $47.54 with 224,237 shares traded as of 10:35 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 1.7 million shares over the past 30 days.

Edison International has a market cap of $15.33 billion and is part of the utilities sector and utilities industry. Shares are up 14.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Tuesday.

Edison International, through its subsidiaries, engages in the generation and distribution of electric power. It operates in two segments, Electric Utility and Competitive Power Generation.
