(NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading global multi-screen video software and services innovator, announced today that it has appointed two industry experts to its executive team. Sam Ganesan joins SeaChange as Chief Architect and Alan Hoff as Vice President-Strategic Marketing. Both have extensive backgrounds in the video industry.
Ganesan came to SeaChange from Motorola, where he served as a distinguished member of the technical staff and engineering director, and earlier, a member of the technical staff in the connected home technology office. In these capacities, Ganesan’s work included architecting technology in the video-on-demand (VOD), digital video recording, and voice and video convergence arenas. Prior to Motorola, Ganesan was engineering director at Iperia, Inc. where he directed sustaining engineering, support services and deployment, and was involved in standards forums of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and in architecting VoIP technology. Earlier in his career, he was director of engineering support at North Point Communications, technology advisor to a major venture capital firm, and director of systems operations to medium-sized enterprises. Ganesan has a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia, and a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India.
Hoff rejoins SeaChange where he earlier served the company as vice president - worldwide product marketing, directing the company’s strategic marketing initiatives that drove the highest revenue growth in the organization’s history at the time. He returns to SeaChange from Avid Technology, where he served as director of the media enterprise segment, responsible for segment strategy, planning and operations. Earlier at Avid, Hoff was director of worldwide product marketing, responsible for all product marketing of the company’s Oscar® award-winning film and television post production products. Prior to his work at Avid, Hoff was chief executive officer of Cinedeck, a leading on-camera disk recorder startup, where he led the company to unparalleled growth in the broadcast and post-production markets. Earlier in his career, Hoff worked in technical marketing at Intergraph Corp. and Media 100 Inc. He has a master’s degree in educational media and technology from Boston University, and a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications from Ithaca College.
