Cypress’s Gen4 TrueTouch® Touchscreen Solution Drives Pantech’s Flagship Vega R3 Smartphone

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (Nasdaq:CY), the market leader in touch-sensing, today announced that Pantech Co., Ltd. has selected the Gen4 TrueTouch® touchscreen controller for its flagship Vega R3 smartphone. The Gen4 solution brings dynamic multi-finger tracking to Vega R3’s vibrant screen, with leading signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to deliver highly responsive and accurate touch performance in any operating environment.

Pantech’s Vega R3 features a large 5.3-inch LCD display that presents bright, clear images with natural colors. The TrueTouch solution enables an ultra-thin bezel around the screen on the Vega R3, allowing the phone to fit comfortably in one hand. The phone’s quad-core CPU and 2 GB of RAM provide users with a complete multitasking environment to execute multiple applications simultaneously.
