. (NYSE: IMN), a global scalable storage and data security company, today announced the availability of 1.5 terabyte (TB) RDX cartridges. Imation 1.5 TB RDX media, used within RDX removable hard disk systems, enables small- to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) to affordably manage rapid, unpredictable growth in digital content and efficiently manage data retention, retrieval, recovery and transfer. By introducing RDX 1.5 TB cartridges, Imation has responded to SMBs’ need to efficiently store more digital content.
Though a company’s data is widely considered its most valuable asset, many SMBs do not have a data protection strategy in place. Imation Scalable Storage solutions featuring Imation RDX media are built to deliver cost efficient backup, recovery and archiving. Imation has effectively increased the capacity of all RDX-enabled solutions, including its storage arrays and back up appliances, to better enable SMBs to deal with explosive digital data growth by simply investing in new 1.5 TB cartridges.
“Imation RDX media offers all of the advantages of disk-to-disk storage, including high performance, reliability, plus the portability and endurance of tape,” said Bill Schilling, director of marketing, Scalable Storage, Imation. “As more value-added resellers realize the benefits of RDX and deploy RDX-enabled storage solutions within client environments, the technology is quickly becoming regarded as the ‘go-to’ storage media for SMBs looking for affordable scalability, reliability and ease-of-use.”
Imation previously introduced new storage solutions that feature Imation RDX media and appliances, and storage software from leading independent software vendors (ISVs). Most recently, the company launched an archive solution that combines QStar Archive Manager software with the Imation RDX A8 Hard Disk Storage Array to deliver a flexible, low-cost active archive solution for SMBs and work groups. When stocked with 1.5 TB cartridges, Imation RDX A8 offers simultaneous access to up to 12 TB of data storage.
