Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tournament of Roses and Miracle-Gro announced today a new multi-year relationship that designates Miracle-Gro as the "Official Rose and Flower Care Partner". The relationship encompasses sponsorship, licensing, and "Miracle-Gro Gardens" in community parks and garden refurbishments. Miracle-Gro will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Post Parade: A Showcase of the Floats.
"We are very happy to welcome Miracle-Gro into this new relationship with the Tournament of Roses," said
Sally Bixby, president of the Tournament of Roses. "Having Miracle-Gro as the presenting sponsor of the Post Parade is a perfect fit and we are thrilled that there is a community parks and gardens element that expands the impact and benefits of what we are doing."
"This relationship is a natural fit between great American brands," said
Tom McLoughlin, vice president, Miracle-Gro marketing. "Uniting with the Tournament of Roses' legacy opens gardening to a new generation of consumers in relevant and engaging ways."
Americans of all ages are awed by the beauty and pageantry around the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game. Novice gardeners, rose aficionados and college football fans now will be able to experience this connection on their own piece of the earth with the same Miracle-Gro and Ortho rose and flower products used by the Tournament of Roses House gardens. Real-life rose enthusiasts will be encouraged to virtually share their gardening experiences and participate in the Tournament of Roses activities through a variety of digital platforms.
As part of its national sponsorship commitment, Miracle-Gro and
Ortho Rose and Flower care portfolio will offer a wide range of in-store marketing materials next season as well as retail and on-line consumer promotions. Miracle-Gro will debut a float in the
January 2013 Rose Parade. The gardens at the Tournament House will recognize use of Miracle-Gro and
