2nd Annual Web And Communications Conference To Convene October 16th
Public sector web and communications professionals will convene Oct. 16 in Oklahoma City’s Metro Technology Center for the Oklahoma State Webmanagers Group (OSWG) Fall Conference 2012: Innovation and Modernization. The conference will feature a keynote address by State of Oklahoma Chief Information Officer Alex Pettit and State Representative Jason Murphey, House Government Modernization Chair.
“This is the second year for this event, and we are very excited about what is in store for our participants. The primary focus of the conference is on practical solutions presented by those who are designing, developing, or managing web presence, web services, and web communications in their organization,” said Dan Hough, OSWG president. “Our goal is to create a place for any web and communications professional looking to enhance their skills, to convene, discuss, and learn.”
The conference offers a day of sessions featuring in-depth classes with industry experts, aimed at providing key information and best practices on topics ranging from social media to responsive design and cybersecurity to Open Source software.
Conference sessions will be relevant to public sector communications and web professionals from state agencies, city government and services, higher education institutions, corporations, and all developers interested in skill building.
“The public sector online community is vital in promoting a sense of transparency to the citizens of Oklahoma,” said OK.gov General Manager, Mark Mitchell. “This conference will help all levels of public webmanagers and communicators share best practices to advance eGovernment in Oklahoma.” Conference speakers will provide ideas, designs, and information agencies can begin implementing immediately following the conference. The conference is also an opportunity to meet and network with people in the industry.
