Anthony DeMaio has been named vice president sales, with the title of associate publisher of
, effective October 4. Slate Publisher Matt Turck announced the appointment today.
, a Washington Post Co. property, after serving as Sales Director for The Washington Post Digital’s Eastern region for the past five years. Before that, DeMaio was a national account manager for Washington Post Digital where he was the top revenue producer for three years. Prior to joining Washington Post Digital, he spent more than five years working on key accounts at Engage Media and the Lycos Corporation.
“Anthony is a tremendous addition to our team,” said Turck. “He's a legend in the business, and there is no one better suited to lead our national sales team to continued and growing success. We're thrilled to have him.”
DeMaio replaces Matt Turck, who became
publisher in September.

DeMaio earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Boston University. He lives with his wife and two sons on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. He is an avid sports enthusiast who will be running his 27
marathon this November in New York City.
