Ansell Completes Acquisition Of Comasec SAS

MELBOURNE, Australia, September 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Ansell Limited (ASX:ANN), a global leader in protective solutions, has today announced that it has successfully concluded its acquisition of Comasec SAS, having received regulatory approval for the transaction. The deal is valued at EUR101.5m.    

Ansell will now begin the process of integrating both businesses, giving customers of Ansell and Comasec access to a more diverse product portfolio and increased choice of products and solutions. Through the integration programme Ansell will actively focus on bringing together the best of both organisations for the benefit of the combined customer base.

We will however give immediate priority to the development of innovative new products and solutions that combine the expertise of both companies, and deliver better solutions to our customers. Ansell announced its intention to acquire Comasec on August 7 ^th 2012. Comasec is a significant participant in the European Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Glove Market, has a presence in North America and specialises in gloves for chemical protection, food handling, cut protection, mechanical protection, dry box and thermal protection. Its major brands are Comasec, Marigold, and Marigold Industrial.

The acquisition will help strengthen Ansell's position in the rapidly growing but fragmented industrial hand protection market. It will also significantly enhance Ansell's presence in a number of important verticals including mechanical, chemical, food and utilities.
