Novatel Wireless Introduces MiFi 2

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVTL) today announced its next-generation MiFi ^® Intelligent Mobile Hotspot – the first mobile hotspot with a touchscreen display and the most feature rich mobile hotspot in the market. In a press release from AT&T earlier today, the MiFi ^® Liberate was introduced – marking the upcoming launch of the first MiFi 2 next generation device from Novatel Wireless in the near future.

MiFi 2 introduces an entirely new user interface based on a 2.8” multi-touch interactive color display, letting users control the MiFi device with the touch of a finger. It has a beautiful design, which features a minimalist style and a vibrant color screen.

Through a combination of both engineering and design, MiFi 2 boasts a user experience that is like no other. It begins with putting the features and functionality at the user’s fingertip through a touchscreen display that drives a better, more intuitive connection between devices and people. An accelerometer ensures that users can hold the device however they like and the touchscreen display will adjust automatically. The features and functionality of MiFi 2 are showcased by icons that allow users to easily discover and interact with the capabilities of MiFi 2 for almost any use case, such as data usage, on-board shared storage, the MiFi Media Center and location based services. From the moment a user takes MiFi 2 out of the box and begins scrolling through and interacting with it, on-device help is only one touch away, allowing greater customer support and improved usability.
