HOUSTON, Sept. 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Randy White, president and CEO of Sysco Canada's Western region and Sysco Calgary, has been named president of Sysco Canada. Additionally, Rod Stroud, president and CEO of Sysco Canada's Eastern region and Sysco Central Ontario, was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sysco Canada.
White will oversee all of Sysco's operational activities across Canada, including broadline companies and specialty companies, and Stroud will oversee Sysco's Division Presidents and Specialty Companies' operational activities across Canada.
White, a native of Vancouver, began his foodservice distribution career in 1979 as a warehouse associate with SERCA's Pacific Division in Vancouver, where he rose to vice president in the organization. Since 2001, he has held the positions of vice president of SERCA's Western Division; senior vice president, executive vice President, president and CEO of Sysco Calgary; and president and CEO of Sysco Canada West. He will be relocating to Toronto in the future.
Stroud's 30-year foodservice industry career began as a driver for Burgess Wholesale, where he progressed through a variety of sales and management positions before being named general manager of its Kingston, Ontario, operation. Since 2002, he has held leadership positions at Sysco's Corporate Multi-Unit Accounts group, SYGMA Canada, Sysco Toronto, Sysco Central Ontario and, most recently, the Eastern region of Sysco Canada.
